What show? The Gun show!
Matthew and cousin Vinny decided to pose for the camera and show off their "guns". Check out those faces!

Mi Familia!

Our time in Cape Coral was filled with celebrations galore. Not only did we celebrate Grandma's 95th birthday, but we also celebrated my brother-in-law Mike's 40 something birthday and my niece Alyssa's 13th birthday. So lots of cake, candles and fun. Here are some pictures of our family in the Cape.

Happy 95th Birthday Little Grandma!

Mother's Day weekend we headed to Cape Coral to celebrate my Grandmother's 95th birthday. Yes, 95 years! Juana Ramos is my maternal Grandma who was born in Puerto Rico May 7th 95 years ago. She eventually came to the states and resided in New York city for many years. She then moved to Long Island, NY and has lived with our family since I was a newborn. She was a permanent fixture in our family. We moved to FL in the late 80's and Grandma came along.

She now lives in a one bedroom apartment by herself and is very self sufficient. Up until a few years ago she would sew by hand. I am privileged to have some of her beautiful creations. She still enjoys her fill-in books and loves to read in both English and Spanish. She continues to cook and clean and watch her favorite novellas each night. I have been blessed with good genes. I hope that I am as lively and as beautiful as she is at this age. She has endured much in her 95 years but she remains hopeful, strong and vibrant.

Here are some pictures of the big celebration that was held at my parent's home.

Update

It has been a while since the last post, so here is an update. This week Alex, Matthew and Gabby all have come down with runny noses, coughs and fevers (boys only). Poor Matthew has been the worst. We went to the Dr. this morning because of his temperature and cough. The Dr. prescribed a cough medicine which helped Matt for a little bit. The poor thing has not stopped coughing since he woke up this morning.

I made three more of these adorable bags. I love all the pretty fabrics I found. They came out so cute. I donated them to our church's garage sale. The proceeds are going to a local organization/ministry called Alpha Omega.

Greg and I went on a date night last night. We went to dinner and a movie! Usually our date nights consists of just dinner, but thanks to our good friend Lauren, we where able to do a movie as well. We enjoyed ourselves and are so thankful and blessed to have Lauren in our lives. The kids love being with her.
It seems like we just got back from a trip but there is another one in our future. Greg and I celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary this November. We are planning a vacation for just the two of us. For this to happen we have to take our trip this summer so my parents can watch the kids. Once we have finalized our trip I'll get you all the details. Here is a hint, we have to cross over the big pond!?

Earth Day!

In celebration of Earth Day we decided to have a picnic. We got together with Brittany & Gabe and the Baugher girls, Dana, Arden & Esther. We headed over to the Cross park. A local Catholic church has beautiful grounds and is right on the intracoastal. It was a great place to have a picnic and enjoy all the the Lord has created. His works are a testimony to us on how great and awesome He is.
How did you celebrate Earth Day? What are you doing to Reduce, Reuse & Recycle?
We are trying to do our part here in our household by...
::recycling::
::planting a vegetable and herb garden::
::using cloth napkins & dishtowels (instead of paper towels)
::cloth diapers::
::homemade or environmentally friendly cleaning products::
::using reusable bags at all stores::
::reusing glass containers (from store bought items instead of purchasing plastic Tupperware-like containers::

Hopefully next year the list will be longer. Go out and celebrate and remember the 3 "R", Reduce, Reuse & Recycle!

Check out those nostrils!

Check out that new smile!
~Update on Gabby~
She is doing great! She is recovering so well that she has not taken any pain medication. She has done such a remarkable job handling all of this. We are so happy for her and how she has come through this big event in her 6 years of life.

Praise Report!

Today Gabby had oral surgery to remove an extra tooth. The Dr. allowed Gabby to sit on my lap while she started breathing in the general anesthesia that eventually put her to sleep. The whole process took about 15 minutes and they said she woke up smiling and laughing. Not only did she get the extra tooth removed but one of her front teeth that has been loose since last summer came out as well. The Dr. also let us know that the skin flap that is under your top lip and that is connected to the upper gum needed to be cut eventually and so he went ahead and did that. She has to stitches due to that but they will dissolve.

They said she did great! She did get sick as we pulled into the garage. Thankfully we had a bag and she did not get sick on herself. The Dr. gave Gabby a $5 gift card to blockbuster, which she is looking forward to using real soon. We would like to thank so many of you who were praying for Gabby, we appreciate your prays. Please continue to pray for her quick recovery.
